Should religion be taught to kids ?

Religion is an organized approach. Teaching religion in schools, religious or normal, makes it even more organized. The brainwashing by fanatic religious leaders easily polarize adults. So if even adults can fall victims to bigoted hate mongers can children, who are young and immature, be able to maintain a balanced view ? Do we really want to carve a new generation which is intolerant of anything that doesn’t conform to their tastes ? Also can they really accept science and technology when they are totally absorbed in a metaphysical and supernatural realm ? Like the conflict between Theory of evolution and creation.

I feel that in religious schools, religion is NOT taught but indoctrinated. As a result these schools spawn individuals who can attach themselves ONLY with someone who has been brainwashed with similar ideals. This only helps in dividing further.

We do have Moral Science classes in schools. So morals, ethics, values, virtues etc can be taught outside the realm of any religion. Once kids are old enough to think for themselves then they can learn about religion. By that time they would have ingrained a balanced view, one that sans hatred and bigotry for other believes and also full of tolerance.

To catch young minds, teach them distrust and contempt, indoctrinate them with fanatism and finally mould them as soldiers of God is the greatest injustice one can do to a human being barring killing him.

So should we really need to teach kids religion ?
