Home ministry tells DoT to put 3G on hold
Users of third generation (3G) mobile services face the prospect of being disconnected with the home ministry asking the department of telecom (DoT) to direct service providers to put all 3G services on hold till effective tapping infrastructure is put in place.
Though only public sector telecom companies BSNL and MTNL currently provide 3G services to nearly 19 lakh customers across India,the move may affect the year-end schedule for launch of third generation mobile services by private players if they fail to put in place the required infrastructure to intercept all services,including video calls.

dude ur money will never get wasted . if u have bought a unlocked 3g usb modem and i think micromax 310 is a unlocked 3g modem . and dude u dun u try it with bsnl 2g sim. u can get bsnl’s 274 unlimited plan in which u can also get 3g network even on 2g sim . i think most of ppl in here are using 274 unlimited plan of bsnl. airtel is not good as bsnl 3g in terms of wireless internet.

Hi dude , you can use 3g & 2g sim in both 372g & 300g modems , you need to change the settings thats all. Presently on BSNL gives you 3g sims.
