Eating Balanced diet, A Secret for healthy skin
• To protect the skin from dryness, the diet should include foods containing vitamin A, like carrots, papaya, oranges. Vitamins A and Vitamin E play significant roles in maintaining the softness and smoothness of the skin texture.
• Drink plenty of water to keep your dry skin well hydrated.
• Avoid fried foods, animal fats and heat-processed vegetable oils. Use cold-pressed oils.
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, soft drinks, sugar, chocolate, potato chips and junk foods as they are deyhdrating.
• In winter, we should include fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C, like citrus fruits, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruit juices. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system and prevents colds, skin rashes, eruptions, etc.
• Winter is also the time for hot drinks. Instead of tea and coffee, try herb teas and clear soups.
• Eat foods rich in sulphur like garlic, onion and eggs. These will keep your skin smooth and healthy.
• Dates, seeds, nuts and dry fruits are available in plenty during the winter months. So are peas. These provide proteins, vitamins and minerals that are needed by the body.
