Where as America has elected a Black as their president, breaking down all barriers of colors and race, we the people of India are becoming more and more racists. Racism is not just discriminating people of a different color, but discriminating people who are different from you. A few days ago an Irishman pointed out in a conversation that Indian are amongst the worst racists in the world. He had points which were very much valid. Today, north Indians are not safe in Maharastra, Marathi’s are not safe in the north, Christians are not safe in Orissa, Hindus are not safe in Kashmir, Muslims are not safe in Gujrat, no one is safe in Assam; dalits are treated like animals by higher castes, there ore OBC, ST and ST.

Unity in diversity was a boon to India, but today diversity has become a bane. How long will India survive as a one country in presence of people like Raj Thackrey, Anup Chetia. While the west especially America has become color blind, we in India are setting up new bench mark in discrimination. In America, millions of whites elect Brrack Obama; in India people of one state are looked down upon in another state. We have 5000 years of history, culture and heritage compared to only 500 years for America. But the way things are shaping up in India and America; America seems to have a longer future unless racism in India is eradicated.
