May 11, 2011 Posted Under: Entertainment, Sports
Adam Gilchrist – They have a captain who has tasted victory in South Africa by winning IPL 2009, he was a member of the Australian world cup winning squad on three occasions. So he definetely knows the meaning and the path of victory. Batting – They have a formidable batting line up with the captain himself, we all know what he is capable of with his bat, then we have Paul Valthaty who has shown potential, Shaun Marsh, David Hussey and Dinesh Karthik are very good batsmen giving the kind of strength any team needs. Bowling – The bowling department looks a bit week even though they have Praveen Kumar and Ryan Harris but except these two no other bowler is dependable when it comes to bowling economical 4 overs. Bhargav Bhatt got 4 wickets but he really will have to pull up socks in every game he plays... Read More

KINGS XI PUNJAB OUTCLASS MUMBAI INDIANS

May 11, 2011 Posted Under: Entertainment, Sports
In case you missed it Kings XI Punjab beat Mumbai Indians in a do or die match for the former. There is a very good chance that Kings XI Punjab might not make it to the Playoffs but their captain Adam Gilchrist thinks otherwise. At the toss Gilchrist said that if they really pull it off from here they might make it to top 4. Today at Mohali they beat Mumbai Indians in a convincing fashion. They looked a better side than the visitors and played upto their potential. There is no reason why they can not make it to the Playoffs. The top 4 batsmen came to the party contributing in a competitive score of 163/8. Though lower middle batsmen and the tail did not contribute much still they were okay maybe 10 runs short, but now that does not matter. Very unexpected but today Kings XI punjab’s bowlers performed exceedingly well wrapping up the visitors for only 87 runs. Mumbai Batting was no match to bowling performance displayed by hosts. A well deserved... Read More

May 10, 2011 Posted Under: Entertainment, Sports
“Dropping Sree was a tactical move as we thought that the pitch will aid spin and we played Powar. Sree took it well when I told him before the game and please, we just had a discussion. If you call this antics then what will you call antics? Don’t blow this up. He has done well for us and nothing happened,” words of the poor KTK captain Mahela Jayawardne Truly people how many of you are willing to believe that Sreeshanth (the spell check in my wordpress is showing shantytown, how similar is that??) took it well. If you have watched the clip i can assure you it was worth a watch, even more entertaining is the controversy surrounding it. I tell Sreeshanth is quite an entertainer, not with his bowling obviously but with his theatrics for sure. I sometimes forget that he is actually, a bowler who played in the world cup final that India won last month. I pity the other 10 players who had to bear his in-capabilities and moreover make up for his pathetic performance. Back... Read More
