The industrial clusters of Ghaziabad, Noida and Delhi’s Najafgarh

The study has identified 88 industrial hotspots in the country where pollution has peaked. Others among the 12 highest polluters include Korba in Chhattisgarh, Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, Vellore in Tamil

The state government has agreed to open these stores under the Jan Aushadhi programme launched by the department of pharmaceuticals last year. The objective of the project is to provide unbranded quality drugs at affordable prices and to promote prescribing of generic drugs by doctors. At present, just two such stores are operational in Delhi — at Kendriya Bhandar in Shastri Bhawan and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. The stores will dispense medicines included in a list of unbranded generic drugs commonly prescribed for chronic diseases and other ailments. The National List of Essential Medicines, prepared in consultation with the World Health Organization, is being used for this purpose.
