Maruti is entering the Multi Purpose Vehicle segment with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The car is launched in the price bracket of 6-9 lakhs. The features and design suggest Maruti Zuzuki is aiming at complete family car. The Ertiga isn’t a practical mono-volume with three rows of seats like the much more utilitarian Eeco. It has a front-wheel-drive, car-based mini-MPV like a car and features, quality interiors. The car will be launched in 2012. The car will looking to compete with Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. I must say that it is a bold move. In the past Maruti has not been successful with high end cars or lets say segment except small cars.
