I have 3g mobile with bsnl 2g sim.When I use internet using 3g network sometimes the downloading speed is 150 kbps or sometime it is 20kbps.I don’t know what is this …..Can anyone please tell me….
Hi Mohit. Speed in GPRS is highly variable. But you are getting a way less speed than actuallyu can get. Probably due to limitation of your mobile handset. your mobile may be 3g but not HSDPA. My mobile is Nokia E63 which is 3g but not HSDPA (unofficially called as 3.5 g) so my mobile has limit of around 384 Kbps.
But I have micromax 310g which has download speed limit of 3MBPS. and believe me i get 1-2.9 MBPS when it is connected to HSDPA (H appears after the signal bars). highest i ever got is 2.9 MBPS. which is good considering limit of 3mbps of datastick.
so GPRS connections r inherently unstable and variable right now. Mobile phone even if 3g (UMTS) but not supporting HSDPA will nt give good speed. BSNL is best here in Lucknow. I get similar speeds with tatadocomo in haryana but not in lucknow

Coz on new bsnl sim either 2g or 3g bsnl gives the speed of 3G.

my sim is 3 year old….actually, recently i bought nokia c7 which has the feaure of hspa..so it gave me speed of 250 kbps when connected to laptop. n i also talked to custmercare he told dat hspa in 3.5g network with 2g sim…normally give you 200+ speed but he told me dat there are some technological updates are made in hspa and umts network ..so dats why they are giving such speed..he also told me dat i have wait 1 week..and then i would be able to get speed 2.75mbps with my 2g sim…. BUT I WANT TO KNOW THAT EVERYONE USING BSNL 2G SIM GETTING THIS PROBLEM.

in my friends 2g sim the speed is coming 3.2mbps, at the same time with the same plan, same area, same recharge my 2g sim is showing 135kbps only. what us the reason can any one explain it ? ? ?

Hey guys ..i need your help ……….sometime time before i was using idea netsetter wid bsnl 2g sim , and was getting a speed upto 2.3 mbps with simple 270 plan . Recently i purchased HUAWEI O2 device and same bsnl sim and pack but this time my usb is only detecting and registering with 3g networks only …………….the problem is that the maximum speed is only 13 kbps ……………i have updated my connection manager but cant get any solution. Can anybody explain me why t.his happening????
