A private jet in which civil aviation minister Praful Patel was flying from Mumbai to Delhi had to return here due to an ‘emergency’ on Monday. The aircraft took off around 3 pm for Delhi. As it took off, the pilot realized he did not get any indication of the landing gear having retracted. The cockpit light indicator gets switched off after the landing gear retracts. However, this did not happen on Monday. The pilot then decided to return to Mumbai. Interestingly, after landing the pilot realized the landing gear had retracted and the fault probably lay with the cockpit indicators. Patel flew to Delhi in the evening on a Kingfisher flight.
