23 Dies in Landslide in a Chinese Village
Beijing – According to local state television 23 people were killed when a land slide in China’s Shanxi Province buried a large part of the small village. Around 20,000 sq metre of area came under the effect in Zhongyang county.
The place is a coal-mining area with migrant workers working mostly as coal miners were effected. Most of these workers and there families originate from south-west Yunnan province. Only 2 people were rescued while more than 23 bodies recovered till tuesday morning.
Investigations are going on for caused the accident however it is suspected that safety of place may be compromised in view of profit making.
